Meta introduces Muse: a personal AI agent that works inside WhatsApp
Meta announced Muse, a personal AI agent that doesn't just answer — it acts for its user: books travel, fills forms, negotiates and pays. It works directly inside WhatsApp, rolling out in the US first.

Meta introduced Muse on September 8, 2026 — "a secure, private personal AI agent that proactively helps with people's goals" — in its official announcement. It executes tasks (emails, travel bookings, form-filling, negotiation), keeps working after the app closes, and runs on a dedicated per-user secure VM with a separate Sentinel agent approving internet-bound actions.
Muse is available on iOS, Android and muse.ai, works directly in WhatsApp, and is coming to Meta's AI glasses. It integrates Link by Stripe for payments with Shop Pay support coming. Pricing is free "for most of what people need" with subscription tiers, and the rollout starts in the US, powered by Meta's new Muse Spark model.
