WhatsApp adds Call Transfer, Waiting Rooms and noise suppression

Announced on Mark Zuckerberg's WhatsApp Channel: Call Transfer lets you move an active group call from one device to another without hanging up.

Waiting Room lets the host approve who joins a group call before they're let in.

Background Noise Suppression cleans up call audio automatically, so calls sound clear even in loud places.

Call Transfer removes the "let me call you back from my laptop" moment. Start a sales call on your phone in the field, walk into the office, and move it to the desktop — mid-call, no redial.

Waiting Rooms turn group calls into controlled rooms. For group demos, client onboarding sessions, or paid consultations over WhatsApp, the host now screens who enters — closer to a meeting tool than a group ring.

Noise suppression matters most for real businesses: the restaurant kitchen, the workshop floor, the bazaar shop — support and sales calls from loud places stop sounding unprofessional.
