Why invalid numbers cost real money
Every broadcast sent to a number that cannot receive it is wasted. Before October 2026 that waste was mostly wasted effort; now that Meta charges per delivered message, and charges for service replies after the free allowance, a dirty list quietly bills you every campaign. The two problems are almost always the same: numbers stored in local format without a country code, and the same customer saved twice in slightly different ways. Both are fixable in seconds, and both are invisible until you look. This tool normalises everything to E.164 — the international format messaging platforms actually require — and tells you which entries were never going to work.
Validator questions
Does this check whether a number is real or active?+
No, and be sceptical of any free tool that claims it does. This checks structure: whether the number is a possible, correctly formatted number for its country, what country it belongs to, and whether the pattern is a mobile or fixed line. Confirming a number is live and reachable requires a paid carrier lookup, which is a different product.
What is E.164 format?+
E.164 is the international standard: country code followed by the national number, no spaces, dashes or brackets — for example 923001234567 or 5511998887777. WhatsApp and every messaging API expect this. Numbers stored as 0300 1234567 are the single most common cause of failed sends.
Are my numbers uploaded anywhere?+
No. Validation runs in your browser using a local copy of Google's phone number rules. The list is never sent to us or to any third party — you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
Why does it matter whether a number is mobile or landline?+
WhatsApp messages can only reach a number that can receive them on a phone. Landlines and some virtual numbers in your list will never deliver, so you pay for the attempt and get nothing. Line type is inferred from the number's pattern, so treat it as a strong hint rather than a guarantee.
Does a valid number mean I am allowed to message it?+
Absolutely not, and this is the more expensive mistake. Valid means correctly formatted. Permission is separate: WhatsApp requires opt-in, and messaging people who did not agree to hear from you leads to blocks, a falling quality rating and eventually a restricted number — which costs far more than a dirty list ever does.
